Presentations focused on tall building developments as they relate to a small but highly dense country.

The Israel Room, which was sponsored by Moshe Zur Architects and Town Planners, acted as a hub for a wide range of various activities related to the Israeli real estate sector during the 2015 CTBUH New York Conference. The room’s activities included professional lectures, business meetings for the Israeli guests at the conference, and visits by the conference delegates.

A presentation by CTBUH Tel Aviv Representative Moshe Zur, Owner and President, Moshe Zur Architects and Town Planners, covered emerging residential towers typologies in Tel Aviv and Israel, as well as a brief review of other projects that have a unique architectural value. The crowd for the hour-long lecture included professionals such as architects, project managers, structural engineers, and entrepreneurs.

This room also doubled as a platform for business and professional meetings for several Israeli groups.

Israel David, CTBUH Representatve and CEO, David Engineers, presented on the structural design of Sarona Tower, a twisted 50-story office tower designed by Moshe Zur Architects. Another lecture by Raquel Ramati, Owner and President, Raquel Ramati Associates examined the space between skyscrapers. At this lecture, an interesting dialogue developed between Ramati and a representative from the Tel Aviv Municipality Engineering Department was concerning the lessons that can be learned from New York urban design for Tel Aviv’s emerging urban typologies.

Mati Leshem, CEO, SteelCon Green Power, presented on a unique double skin curtain wall system that has been developed together with Moshe Zur Architects, and was already implemented in the Amot Atrium Tower in Israel – an office tower designed by Moshe Zur Architects. The presentation also included several mock-up units that were actually present in the room and a movie clip.

Throughout the conference, the room also acted as a platform for business and professional meetings for several Israeli groups, such as a meeting with RWDI regarding a project that is being developed by the AFI Israel group. Some of the meetings were on a more formal level and included a visit by the mayor of the city of Bat Yam, CEO and representatives from the city engineer office, the leaders of the Israel Organization of Consulting Engineers & Architects (IOCEA), and client meetings with various presenters.

The room also accommodated an exhibition of towers designed by Moshe Zur Architects and computerized presentations. Apart from the meetings and lectures, many Israeli and other foreign delegates visited the room during the two days of the conference. In general the room was very successful as a host for many activities.
