Empire State Building, 80th FloorThe Empire State Building Networking Reception took place on Monday evening, following the first day of Conference presentations. The reception provided attendees an opportunity to meet and network with their fellow delegates in the incredible setting of the 80th Floor of the historic Empire State Building, which offered great views of the New York City skyline. The owner of the building, Anthony E. Malkin, welcomed guests, stating, “I’m appreciative of the Council for making the effort to have an event here and I’m really appreciative of being able to share what we have done here at this building and what we continue to do.” An evening of music, drinks, and conversation followed, but a visit to the Empire State would not have been complete without a trip to the Observation Deck, so all reception attendees were led on an exclusive complimentary tour to the Deck to add to an already memorable event.

The Empire State Building is one of the most recognizable buildings in the world, having been featured in countless movies. However, the building is more than just an icon for New York City. It was a technical achievement at the time of its construction, taking just over a year to complete, and then standing as The World’s Tallest Building for more than 40 years. In 2010 the building underwent an extensive renovation, and then became one of the greenest office buildings and the tallest LEED building in the United States.
